Many people are familiar with the repair café concept through the popular BBC Repair Shop programme. Instead of throwing away broken items, skilled volunteers will work to fix them, extending the life of the item and reducing the amount of stuff that ends up in landfill.

We teamed up with Peterborough repair café last month to bring it to Whittlesey for the first time ever. It was a huge success with many items being repaired and restored. We are working with them again in July 2025, but we are interested in holding our own sessions as well a couple of times a year, but in order to do that, we need volunteers with have practical skills in areas such as electrics and electronics, woodwork, metal work and seamstressing, so if you know anyone or you have skills, let us know!
